Medite®Tricoya® is a new product. It is an Extreme Durable MDF.
Medite Tricoya is described by TRADA's Technical Manager, Dr Andy Pitman, as "absolutely unique" and that Medite Tricoya is "one of the greatest advances in board products over the past 10 years."
Medite Tricoya can potentially be used virtually anywhere:
- Façade cladding/siding
- Fascia and soffit panels and other secondary exterior applications
- Window components
- Door components and door skins
- Wet interiors, including wall linings in swimming pools, bathrooms, wet rooms, changing rooms etc.
- Speciality furniture including lockers, cubicles, chairs and tables
- Play frames, tree houses and exterior composite furniture
- Signage
- Automotive parts
- Sound barriers
- Sports equipment - surfboards, sleds, snowboards etc.

Medite Tricoya has undergone extensive performance testing by the UK's Building Research Establishment (BRE). BRE concluded that Medite Tricoya would carry a durability class (under EN350-2) of 1, or very durable. This durability is equivalent to teak and more durable than oak. BRE also tested the creep and duration performance as well as its resistance to weathering. Germany's Fraunhofer Institute for Wood Research, Wilhelm-Klauditz-Institut (WKI) concluded that the performance of Medite Tricoya is so outstanding that it will allow it to be used in applications not previously deemed suitable.
